MOYALE EDUCATIONAL FUND

The organization is also in the process of establishing a community-based Scholarship Fund that will benefit residents of Moyale Sub County of Marsabit. The project aims to generate contributions by mobilization communities toward a fundraising drive that is supported by local leaders and the political leadership of the County. The mobilization is organic as it is community-led and supported by leaders of the communities.

It is anticipated that the fund will be twin Trust Fund(s) at some point in the future once the mobilization is complete. As of now, committees have been formed in the defunct Sololo and Moyale districts of the current Moyale Sub County to spearhead the mobilization process and deliver the fundraising to fruition. The project is also at its budding phase since the process of establishing a system of fund management is also in place, the protocol of the scholarship is also being generated and sustainable administration and investments are being considered.

The organization supports this work since it believes this is the only way a community can drive itself to prosperity. The prevailing poverty and exhaustive fundraising events sapped people’s energy and to confront the challenges of schools fees payment, the communities have unified behind this campaign. The two committees aim to collect Ksh. 75 million by the end of the fundraiser and the founder also aims to generate Ksh. 25 million to match funds contributed by the community.
